![]() I tend to aim at putting a lot of players deep in the opponents half while keeping the BC safe from a blitz. Hmm, am I an oddity for actually basing my strategy on the throwing game when playing elves and humans? When I reach for the so called lose-o-meter my opponent usually lets out a big sigh and starts looking at the players in his dugout waiting for the next kick-off. With AG3 teams some days you have a good day of wow they are good and somedays they play like morons! Pick up the goddam ball you loon! I have had a human thrower spanner the ball enough to get annoyed with him AG4 teams with catch pose problems because of a 1:3 chance with a reroll is actually really good. If playing desparately against AG3 you can throw it and be safe that it is a 1:6 chance of an interception. Normally you create a channel to throw the ball down to avoid interceptions. Usually in bands of 3/6/10/13 (something like that). Passing the Ball can add to the ball movement from 1 to 13 squares. Taking your time to score because no one passes the ball could mean you are losing vital time in trying to steal possession from your opponent. There's nothing quite like a 26 square ball movement in one turn. If you feel you are lacking the passing experience then start trying to put passing and hand off plays into your games. It's quite a dilema to work out by what definition we can say which has the best passing team. ![]() The catcher has both catch and dodge unlike their 'beefier cousins'. Wood Elves have the move advantage, the extra point of move allows one thrower to cover the back half. Remember skills that do not have to be used etc.Įlves have the Move 8 Catchers with Nerves of Steel are almost unstoppable in receiving the ball. So even an naffed Long Bomb or Long Pass can be reduced to a non thrown ball. High Elves have the advantage of the Safe Throw start up. I think it's a draw between the 3 Elf teams (High, 'Pro' and Wood'). Underworld - Are they really better than Skaven? Khemri – Worst passing team ever? Will someone vote for them anyway? Slann – The wild card team, a double skill on a lineman opens up Hail Mary Pass paired with Diving Catch this can be an interesting option on offence and does gain you a lot of distance if it works. ![]() Halflings – Hands down the most viable stunty throwing team in the game and probably throw more passes than any other team. Skaven – Does mutation access offer much to the passing play? Humans – Lots of skills to start but not elves. Wood Elves – The fluff says they are the masters of the long pass, my game experience differs.ĭark Elves – Interesting lateral play but not great at distance team if you ask me. (Pro) Elves – Safe Throw on the Thrower or Nerves of Steel on the Catcher? This should be a two horse race right? That being said if you had to pick a team aimed at gaining the most distance from passing in a league which team would you pick? The distance only counts if the ball is in the air (even attached to a stunty), not the move action before it. ![]() I think this is a shame and would like to see passing as a viable option for more teams. Many other coaches share the same sentiments and reaching for the lose-o-meter is usually a sign that things are going badly. Despite my user name I must admit I rarely use a pass action unless I have to. ![]()
